Understanding accreditation
What does course accreditation mean?
Private course accreditation is a professional review of an academy, its educators and the courses it intends to deliver. Sunshine looks at whether the submitted training has clear learning outcomes, suitable content, appropriate assessment and a credible learner journey.
Accreditation helps an independent training provider demonstrate that its materials and delivery arrangements have been reviewed against Sunshine standards. It can support learner confidence and conversations with insurers, but every insurer applies its own requirements.

Select the course allowance that suits your academy. The total package price includes the £99 Training Provider Approval Fee.

Provider review
Sunshine reviews your provider details and may request clarification or further evidence before deciding the application.

Complete any remaining balance
If approved, activate the balance shown in your member account. The Single Course package has nothing further to pay.

Course review and accreditation
Submit the required course evidence, receive your accreditation record and access approved member resources.

What training providers often ask before applying
Does accreditation guarantee insurance?
No. Accreditation can help demonstrate that a course has been reviewed, but an insurer decides whether to offer cover based on its own criteria, prerequisites and policy terms.
Can online or blended courses be accredited?
Delivery methods are considered as part of the review. The evidence and assessment requirements will depend on the subject, practical risk and intended learner outcomes.
What happens if changes are required?
Sunshine may ask for reasonable updates or clarification where submitted evidence does not yet meet the required standard. Approval is not automatic.
Can an existing academy transfer its accreditation?
Yes. Established providers can request a free initial transfer review so Sunshine can consider current accreditation, courses, manuals and academy processes.
How long does accreditation last?
Packages cover a 12-month accreditation period. Your member dashboard displays activation dates, status and payment information.
When can I use the Sunshine Accreditation logo?
Logo use, certificate access and active verification are available only after approval and successful activation of the package.
